Samsung And Huawei's Phones With Holes Are Coming This Month

Are you ready for phones with holes? Because they're ready for you.

The next solution to the notch problem comes in the form of phones with selfie cameras fitted in a literal gap in the screen.

'Doughnut' phones, as we're christening them ('cos they've got a hole) are well and truly here, starting with Samsung and Huawei, both of whom have hole phones comingĀ in the next few weeks.

Samsung has announced on Weibo that the Galaxy A8s will be unveiled on the 10th of December (Monday), with a hole in the Infinity O design they showed off at the Samsung Developer Conference:

The text on the post says 'Insight to the future, 12.10 [10th December], Beijing.'

Meanwhile, Huawei also posted on Weibo to show off the Nova 4, which it says will be coming on the 17th (the following Monday):

That phone will apparently be unveiled in the Chinese city of Changsha in Hunan province.

Both phones have gone for the minimalist circular cutout in the leftmost corner of the screen, presumably for the least intrusive experience (a hole in the centre would be harder to ignore).

Do you think hole phones will take off? Would you buy one? Let us know in the comments. [Slashgear]
